Get involved
Volunteer with Eaglets
Eaglets needs people who will show up, learn the system, and help younger students build with confidence.
The work
What volunteers actually do
Assemble and test kits
Build kits before a camp and test every one. A kit that fails on the day costs a camper an hour.
Learn the curriculum
Know the lesson well enough to teach it when a student asks something off-script.
Help teach coding and electronics
Work with small groups, mostly by asking questions rather than giving answers.
Prepare materials
Sort parts, pack boxes, print worksheets, charge batteries. Unglamorous and load-bearing.
Support check-in and room setup
Get the room ready before students arrive and reset it after.
Document approved activities
Photograph and write up programs, within the permission rules.
Help with sponsor research and outreach
Find organizations who might fund or host, and help make the ask.
Improve technical documentation
Write down what you had to figure out, so the next person does not have to.

What is expected
Stated plainly, because a volunteer who does not know the expectations cannot meet them.
- Attend training before your first program
- Show up for the programs you signed up for, on time
- Reply to messages within a couple of days
- Follow the conduct rules around minors, without exception
- Respect every host site’s own rules while you are there
- Complete any district or partner requirements the host asks for
- Never collect student data independently. Registration and consent stay with the host
